Agriculture is the mainstay of Pakistan’s economy. More than 24% of the country’s GDP comes from agriculture sector which also employs about 44% of the labor force, sustains almost 75% of the population, and accounts for 30% of the exports and 50% of the total foreign exchange earnings. Since Pakistan has high population growth (more than 2.5%), a sustained growth in agricultural output, productivity and even our rural system is critical for its economical and social well being.
The Agriculture system is, however, undergoing transformation due to an increasing trend towards privatization of services. The inclusion of the private sector to ensure competition at all stages is gaining credence as one solution, especially with regard to agricultural input-supply firms and post-harvest Service providers.
And further beyond agriculture, there exists the concept of rural economy, including nonfarm economic activities such as small enterprises, transport services, village retail shops, local schools, and clinics, all of which account for an estimated 40 to 57 percent of total rural household income.
We having legacy of dealing with all segments of rural economy since four decades, are continuously trying to transcend the established norms of behaviors prevailing in the cluster. Providing better services to village retail shops, which provide almost on-window-services to rural population. Providing transportation services to farmers for bringing their produce to central markets for providing better-managed sale process. Local traders (beoparis) from rural areas account for almost 50% of total rural business. House Of bashir Murad is actively engaged in bridging this segmants to agro-based industries.
This is all because at HBM, WE APPRECIATE THE OPPORTUNITIES TO BE OF SERVICE!
